My 5 Days, 4 Nights Itinerary in Hong Kong
Visiting a place with a language that is so different like Hong Kong is actually a first time for me. I normally get anxious when traveling to a place with my own itinerary since mine's usually lacks on details, so I end up asking people around or looking for an instant directions around.. but that cannot easily happen when I am in a place like Hong Kong, where the English language is barely used.
To save time, energy, and uncertainty, I did a lot more research beforehand on how to live as a tourist for 5 days and 4 nights in Hong Kong, and thus made my own itinerary (since my family left the itinerary all to me.. could see that coming). I'll let you know about places we visited, halal food we ate (since my family and I are all muslim), even musholla/places to do Shalat (muslim pray) !
So here it is.. my itinerary. *drum rolls*
DAY 1
Arrival, Visit Victoria Peak, Visit Times Square in Causeway Bay
1. Arrival
We arrived at Hong Kong International Airport at 7 AM, and all stores in the airport had already opened. Things we did when we arrived:
- Buy SIM Card in '1O1O' shop at the arrival hall. Extremeeely important to have your own SIM Card since you won't be able to depend on WiFi all the time. We bought CSL SIM Cards (available in Hong Kong and Macau, recommended if you plan to go to Macau as well) for around HKD150/5GB/7days each. The network is quite good in Hong Kong, but much better in Macau (turn on the Roaming when you're in Macau).

- Buy Octopus Card. Octopus card is the one thing you need when you plan to travel everywhere via MTR or other public transportation. Not only that, it can be used to shop at supermarket and convenience store such as 7/11. You can buy Octopus Card at the Airport's Arrival Hall for HKD 150 each (HKD 50 for deposit, HKD 100 for card balance). You'll get your HKD 50 back when you refund your Octopus Card at any MTR Stations before leaving Hong Kong (so don't forget to refund the card! :D).Octopus Card
- Go to Hotel (AirBnB) via Uber Car, 7 seater. My family and I consist of 5 people, and we brought 2 big, heavy luggages and 1 small cabin luggage. Considering the fact, we chose 7-seater Uber car instead of Airport Express (train) or bus to save time and energy. We paid around HKD 350 for the ride with Uber car (from Airport to our hotel in Central Area).
2. Check-in at AirBnB and have some rest.
We stayed at Central Area, Hong Kong Island. We chose Central Area because the place is near to the Ferry Harbour and only few MTR stops to Disneyland Resort (We planned to go to Macau and Disneyland). Other than that, Central has lots of restaurants/cafes/bar, all kind of shops, and supermarkets. You can sightseeing through all shops via Mid-level Escalator. We were happy to stay in Central, recommended if you're seeking for convenient area for family to stay.
3. Lunch at Ebeneezer's Kebab and Pizzeria @ Central (Halal)This restaurant in Central offers tasty food with affordable price. Recommended menu: Chicken Tikka Biryani + hot tea for around HKD 60 (sorry I forgot to note down the exact price), their biryani rice is super delicious! Their Kebabs and Curry Rice taste very good as well. Most of their menu have big portion, I even shared mine with mom. For the exact location, they are available on Google Maps.
4. Visit the Victoria Peak
We went to Victoria Peak through Central MTR Station. From the station we took J2 exit, and met 2 Victoria Peak salesmen who sold The Peak Tram package tickets. We bought the Peak Tram (return tickets) + Sky Terrace tickets for HKD 90 each, cheaper from the real one at the site (HKD 94).
The queue at the Peak Tram was quite long, since we went there on weekend. We queued for around 100 minutes. (I know.. I know..). But don't worry! the queue itself was an enjoyable one, there's an ice cream booth near the queue so you can enjoy your ice cream time with your family or friends while waiting.
5. Visit Times Square at Causeway Bay
From Victoria Peak, we went back to Central MTR Station to go to Causeway Bay Station (only 3 stops from Central). We took the exit that goes straight to Times Square. Times Square is a nice place for you to stroll around, especially for you who loves the crowd. For dinner, we had ours at Times Square mall's foodcourt (Cookeddeli), B1 level.
1. Ferry to Tsim Sha Tsui (Access to Kowloon from Central)

Tips: I suggest you to buy Peak Tram tickets at Klook.com, since there will be a Klook tour guide with you, and they offer a queue jump package for Peak Tram tickets (one-way only) so you can skip the long queue. You should buy the tickets as soon as possible before the tickets run out. (We missed our chance to buy the tickets from Klook, that's why we had to queue..)
